Against one wall was a very uncomfortable, severe looking black leather couch. The shiny perfection suggested it had never once been sat on. So naturally that’s where I headed. I turned and started to sit, but he cleared his throat and motioned for me to use one of the two more comfortable looking office chairs opposite him. His meticulously arranged desk sat dead centre. His back faced one of the two only solid colour walls in the office. The other being at the far side in the other office that had a closed door in the middle of it. The wall was painted grey and a door on either side.

I glanced out of the window down to the city beneath us. He must feel like a king up here.

  “Miss Warner – ”

“Abby, please.” I smiled sweetly at him, noting the tense tick of his firmly set jaw. Christ, the man could crack nuts with that thing. His angular features were something poets wrote about. Artists created sculptures of and women swooned over.

“I assume you signed the NDA downstairs?”

“I did. Your super-secret organisation is safe with me.” I grinned at him to lighten the mood, but he simple crinkled his brow, those assessing eyes pinning me with a deathly glare.

“There are no secrets to keep. I like to protect my business.” The deep rumble of his voice was like an erotic play on my senses. He was as annoying as a haemorrhoid invasion, but he was bloody gorgeous. The black suit, black tie, and crisp white shirt was a lethal combination. His hair was slicked back in a neat quiff as if it had been forced to adhere to its master’s command. A slight wave in the front offered a hint at its rebellion to be held so perfectly. He held out his hand toward me, but having been in a small daydream, I had no idea what he wanted.

“Your portfolio. May I look at it?” he asked slowly, as though speaking to a small child. I handed my sparse resume over, cringing at the lack of experience. My achievements were respectable, and I had high grades in high school and college.

Mr Stone’s brow knitted as he scrutinised the page. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, knowing there was very little to endear me to this position. But you couldn’t win the race if you didn’t take part – right?

“This is a very well-assembled resume, Miss Warner, but it’s sparse to say the least. Why exactly would I employ you? You have no working experience inside an office. Your record for remaining in employment is...” He glanced down at the papers in his hand. “Three months. Again, what am I missing here?”

“My great personality?” I beamed at him, again trying and failing to garner any other reaction than contempt. But the glacial ice staring back at me was an indicator I was flogging a dead horse. “I work hard. Those were all temporary contracts. Each one I completed from start to finish, and even though I knew they were short term, I still gave it a hundred percent.”

“A hundred percent at...Discount World?” The derision in his voice was blaringly obvious, and the disdain ruffled my ego.

“It pays a wage. Some of us aren’t lucky enough to sit behind a desk ruling an empire. We have to graft and take jobs that are available to pay the bills.”

He appeared stunned silent for a moment. “I apologise. That was rude of me. But I assure you ruling an empire takes hard work.” He read over the front page again and pointed. “Why did you only complete six months at University?”

The accusation was clear in his voice – he believed I was a slacker. The slight cock of one thick brow had my hackles rising again. But worse, far worse than any of his derision, was the pain thrashing through me. No matter how much time passed, the pain remained.

  “I’d rather not say.”

“Miss Warner, you are here to convince me to employ you. It’s a simple question.”

“Ah, you’re still here. I was worried I may find a mutilated body behind the building,” said an amused voice from the doorway.

My gaze swooped to him and gobbled him up. He leaned against the door in all his casual sexiness, arms folded over his chest as he smirked at me. His light blue eyes were captivating, even at this distance. His dirty blonde hair was messily styled in that “just-fucked” way. He was wearing a white shirt sans tie, unbuttoned at the top, with a royal blue waistcoat. Smart casual was a look that worked wonders for him. He entered the room, walking with a confidence that demanded attention. He lifted his hand and tucked it under my chin bringing my gaze to his. “You’re a lovely little thing. Are we keeping her, Lawson?”

Ah, so that was stick up his arse’s first name.

“She has no experience.” The combination of blue eyes from the man I surmised was Sam and the sexy rasp from across the desk had my nipples tightening beneath my shirt and my thighs squeezing together. God, I was a hussy.

“Samuel, when you’ve quite finished we have business to attend to.”

“I haven’t even started yet,” he replied. I shivered at the deep rumbling growl from behind the desk.

Why the hell was looking at one, but hearing the other, turning me to mush?

Crystal blue orbs trailed down my neck assessing me before landing on my very pert nipples. A slow devious grin slid onto his gorgeous face, a lick-able crease formed under his stubble.

“We’re keeping her,” he assured him.

“This is my interview.” Mr Stone argued, and there went that throbbing deep in my stomach. Maybe I was coming down with something.

Sam sat in the vacant seat beside me and I was finally able to revert my attention back to Mr Stone. Forcing myself to make eye contact with the uptight prick behind the desk was a mistake. Because the blackness was even more alluring than the blue sea.

“I will ask again, Miss Warner —”

“Does he always do that? I’ve asked him to call me Abby,” I huffed, not quite sure why at the moment it mattered to me, but he was purposely avoiding my preferred name. Like I was a non-entity.

Sam released a small chuckle, his eyes going wide as he stared at Mr Stone behind the desk. I glanced over at Mr Stone to see that yet again his jaw was set in that nut crunching way.

“Do not interrupt me,” he snarled, his hands balled into fists crumbling my poor resume. I opened my mouth to ask him to stop when he spoke obnoxiously loud as though it was bursting to come free.

“Why did you quit University after only six months?”

“Please answer him. We’ve only just had this office redecorated, and I’d hate for his head to explode all over it.”

I snickered because Sam teased him as much as I wanted to.

“Samuel, stop acting the fool.” Mr Stone’s pitch held a clear note of warning.

“I quit university because my mum became really sick, and she needed someone to care for her.” The words flooded out of my mouth. Maybe if I said them fast enough the pain would be less. I purposely kept my voice light, and a mask of indifference on my face, but inside, my heart cracked a little more. My stomach hurt, and my throat throbbed with the desire to let the pain overcome me and bawl all over the place. My mum had been the most important person in the world to me, and to let this stranger have a piece of that was agony.

“Why didn’t you employ a carer?” he asked, like it was the most logical thing in the world. Anger at his belief I failed her somehow overcame my sadness.

“Because unlike some, I don’t have money sitting around to pay people to do the jobs I’m more than capable of doing,” I ranted, hating that the pain was coming fast and furious to choke me.

“Lawson, ease up, man,” Samuel implored.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to sound unfeeling. Is your mother recovered now?”

I clenched my jaw and glared at him, waiting for that mocking eyebrow to raise. But instead I was met with utter concern and sincerity.

“She died eighteen months ago. She was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer when I was eighteen, and we were told she wouldn’t have long to live, maybe six months at the most. But she fought and refused to let it take her. When I finished college, I didn’t want to go to University. I wanted to stay close to Mum, but she said, Mak
e me proud, Abs, that’s all I ask.” I sucked in a breath, hating that the agony dragged me down each time. “She never had the opportunity to further her education. She’d had me at a young age, and even though she said she never regretted having me, she wished she’d achieved more in life. So I went, but six months in, she became really sick. So I quit and became her fulltime carer. Those temporary contracts were so I could fit work around Mum and her care needs. Lacey helped out a lot when she wasn’t working. It’s not that I don’t want to work, or have no motivation. I had different priorities. My mum came first, but now she’s gone and so has the job market it would seem.” I sucked in a breath, my nerves raw and exposed as I sat in a silent room with two of the most gorgeous men I had ever seen, and I had just verbally shit all over the place.

“I didn’t intend to wound you, Miss Warner. But thank you for sharing.”

Sam squeezed my arm in a silent show of support, and for the first time since he entered the office, it wasn’t him that captivated me. It was the brooding man behind the desk. I could almost believe he felt regret.

The door in the other office opened, giving me a welcome intrusion. A slim blonde woman entered wearing a tight black dress. She had a small frame but had a gorgeous pair of boobies. They made my chest look like a pair of fried eggs, and I wasn’t flat chested by any stretch of the imagination so hers were huge. She had pouty lips, which I doubted were natural. She was very pretty in a manufactured way. Her sugary sweet smile never faltered as her gaze fixed on the brooding man behind the desk. There was an exaggerated sway to her hips as she walked toward us. I glanced at Mr Stone to see which asset he was interested in but was shocked to see utter rage in his expression. If a look could affect the temperature in the room, then Sam and I would currently be sliding around on a glacier.

“I take it my instructions that there be no interruptions was a difficult concept for you, Scarlet?” The arse sneered at the poor woman. I balked when she giggled and rubbed his shoulder in a flirtatious way.

Mr Stone glared at her and snatched the papers she offered to him. She slowly removed her hand when he jerked his shoulder before bending down, practically pressing her boobs into his face as she spoke in a hushed tone to him.

“All this could have waited,” he scolded, pulling away from her. “Please leave.”

Her smile faltered, but she recovered quickly. “Steve is on his way —”

“If he enters this office within the next few hours, you will find yourself unemployed. Do I make myself clear?”

Scarlet turned to leave, giving Samuel a bright smile. She had an uncanny skill of behaving as if I wasn’t even present.

“So, Abby, can we keep her?” inquired Sam enthusiastically as Scarlet departed. A small smile played at my lips, because he had the energy of a puppy.

“Miss Warner, may I ask what your cousin has told you of the work she does here?” Mr Stone enquired, casting a glance at Sam.

“Well, she hasn’t. I assume because of the non-talking thing.”

  “Disclosure.”

“Isn’t that a film?” I asked dumbly. I knew perfectly well what he meant, but for some bizarre inexplicable reason I got a joyous kick out of ruffling this perfect guy. I refused to turn and add credence to Sam’s muffled snigger beside me. This interview had gone to shit the moment Mr Stone asked me if I needed more time to look presentable.

  “Excuse me?”

“Disclosure is a movie. With Demi Moore I believe.”

Sam barked out a laugh and covered his face with his hands. I kept my gaze fixed on Mr Stone.

“Miss Warner,” he snapped. And jeez did that do things to my nether regions that it had no right to do.

  “Hmm?”

“What did your cousin say about the job you would be required for, and the nature of our business?”

“Oh, right, yeah. Lacey hasn’t explained anything. Didn’t exactly have much time. Just that you needed a secretary. My cousin is very beautiful as were all of the other minions that followed. So at first because of all the secrecy, I was guessing super-secret spy agency. But now I'm leaning more toward modelling. Especially with gorgeous Blue Eyes here. And she made me go buy new clothes just so I could sit here and listen to you put me down over my non-existent portfolio.”

“Do you always talk this much?” Mr Stone asked.

“We’re having a conversation, so, pretty much.”

  “I like her,” Sam chuckled.

“This is not a modelling agency.” Mr Stone snarled and glared at Sam.

“Ooh, well, with that in mind – is it a super-secret laboratory for creating sexy cyborgs for bored housewives?” I believed Sam’s beauty had turned my brain to utter shite. Because what the fuck, Abby?

“I’m keeping her.” Sam laughed beside me.

  “She’s insane.”

“Hey, according to Albert Einstein, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. I’d like to think I’m more spontaneous than that.”

“Well, you clearly mess up interviews rather frequently.”

“O-kay, I may just step in.” Sam’s amusement was evident in his voice.“You’re about to give my pal here a heart attack.” He leaned over the arm of the chair toward me, crooking his finger at me to do the same. “Spontaneity is a very, very dirty word to our friend here.”

I watched as Sam’s mouth formed the word dirty, and places that had been dormant in my life recently, suddenly fired to life in colourful glory. His plump bottom lip was begging for me to sink my teeth into it, suck it into my mouth. A low groan emanated from his throat, before he parted and licked those lips.

“You’re an open book, little one,” he said seductively, pressing his thumb to my bottom lip and curling his fingers under my chin. Sam’s lips were close by my ear, a soft rasp of sex. “We have to keep her, Lawson. She may be our best toy yet.”

I shivered in his arms, partly from his words but mostly from the lethal man clutching his fists together on the desk. That barely contained energy was an aphrodisiac I couldn’t quite understand. Mr Stone's eyes, if at all possible, darkened. Black onyx orbs burned into me. My breath quickened, and I felt an awareness to the trap I’d been caught in. These men were a potent dangerous mix of dark and light. But currently the dark was winning.

“Stop,” demanded Mr Stone. But Sam continued to whisper in my ear, running his nose up and down the column of my neck, all the while holding my chin firmly in position. I stared straight at Mr Stone. This was the most bizarre interview I’d ever attended.

“All that willingness to play. To surrender. To please us.”

A mewling whimper escaped my lips as images of both men taking their pleasure from me entered my mind. I was no insecure virgin, but I’d never done anything as decadent as a threesome. And I’d never had a lover as wickedly gorgeous as either of these two.

“Good God, Samuel. Stop.” Growled Stone, his tone losing some control and turning sinisterly contorted.

Sam exhaled on a sigh and quite reluctantly released his hold on me. I felt wrung out. Like all the air had been sucked out of me, leaving me a panting sopping mess.

“Alright, dude, chill.” Sam huffed as he watched his workmate. I glanced over at Sam, admiring his handsome beauty. There was an effortless charm about him, like knickers would simply disappear with a smile or look from him. Currently Sam had his chin titled up in a defiant dare toward Mr Stone. Something silent and provocative was passing between them.

“Miss Warner, your cousin isn’t a model. I pay her to fuck, a job she does exceedingly well.” Snarled Mr Stone. The gleeful fire in his eyes was testament to him accepting the challenge from Sam.

“Excuse me?” I glowered, hating he would attempt to discredit Lacey that way. He picked up a remote and pressed a button. He motioned for us to look behind and in doing so I saw that the largest wall of frosted glass had turned clear, showcasing an ordinary looking corporate office, with numerous workstations all set up
side by side. . It was set up like any other office. Apart from the high tech cameras around the room. And people holding sound mics. The only major difference was multiple men and women were fucking like rabbits on the desks. Sam glowered at Mr Stone as I stood to take in the scene before me. My eyes roamed over the abundance of naked flesh until they located my cousin. Lacey was taking a rather large cock from behind.

  “Lacey does this?”

“Lexi Ball is one of the best in the business.” Stone grinned. He was enjoying himself. I’d taunted him and now he was taking retribution.

“This is her job? She isn’t a model. She is paid...”

“To fuck, suck and lick, yes.”

“Fucking hell, Lawson, enough,” barked Sam. He came to stand beside me at the glass, a place I hadn’t realised I’d wandered to. He slid his arm over my shoulder. “She probably didn’t want you to find out this way.”

“I don’t think she ever intended me to know what she did,” I said, hurt overcoming my voice. It made sense why she was so reluctant to tell me about the interview.

“Listen, she’s still just Lacey. Your cousin.”

“No, no she isn’t,” I said adamantly. “What is this?”

“We’re the leading adult entertainment company. Well, for now we are. We produce and make live-streamed porn.”

  “And Lacey...Lexi, is a performer?”

  “Yes.”

  “And she’s good at it?”

“Look, Lawson was a dick. He should never have told you this way. It was her story to tell,” Sam said the words to me but spoke toward Mr Stone, accusation and venom clear in his voice.

“Jake, send Lexi in here. Tell her to wear a robe. Now.”

Sam and I looked over at Stone to see him place the receiver down on the phone.

“The fuck? What the hell is wrong with you?” Sam exploded, stepping toward the desk. They exchanged hushed words, but from the heated expressions on both men’s faces I knew they were arguing. Less than a minute later Lacey came into the office, a white terry robe wrapped around her. As she passed through the empty office she could see through the glass we were all waiting on her. Her gorgeous blue eyes landed on mine before glancing out toward the office of sex. Her cheeks reddened and her eyes widened with absolute fear.
